Floaters

                                              FLOATERS

         Vitreous Floaters

Picture
You may experience seeing spots in your vision. They may look to you like black or gray specks, strings, or cobwebs, when you move your eyes and appear to dart away when you try to look at them directly.

There is  jelly-like substance (vitreous) inside your eyes, when it  becomes more liquid with age, you will see the the spots called floaters. However, it can be associated with infection, diabetes, even some severe eye problems like retina tear, retina detachment. Dilated eye exam will help find the cause of the floaters.

However, another condition that causes an accumulation of lipids and calcium in the vitreous can make you see floaters as well. Some people develop particles of fats and calcium that hang, suspended, in the vitreous, called Asteroid Hyalosis.
